Arshad Ahmed, Board of Directors Member

Arshad is a seasoned executive with leadership experience in startups, venture capital and private equity, and strengths in general counseling, board and corporate governance, regulatory compliance, commercial contracts, and all manner of financings and complex M&A. Arshad weaved his way through law and business, serving at two AmLaw10 law firms: Latham & Watkins LLP, where he started his legal career, and Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where he later ascended to partner. Thereafter he transitioned from lawyer to fund manager, launching a VC fund that invested in emerging companies connected to SAMENA (South Asia, Middle East, North Africa). He serves on numerous corporate boards. Arshad has also taught law and legal theory at various top-tier law schools, offering courses on private equity, venture capital, and contemporary Islamic finance and banking. He has volunteered over the years with organizations advancing traditional knowledge, protecting religious liberty, and challenging bigotry and exclusion. Arshad holds a B.S. in engineering from Cornell University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania.
