Munes Tomeh, Board of Directors Member

Munes is an in-house patent attorney at a California-based wireless communications technology company. Prior to his current role, Munes worked as an associate in a patent specialty law firm. After earning a bachelor’s degree in physics from UC Berkeley and before earning a master’s degree in engineering from Arizona State University, Munes spent two years studying Arabic, Islamic theology, and Islamic law in Spain and Mauritania. Munes’s interest in bringing the Islamic scholarly tradition into present-day conversations led him to the study of law at UC Berkeley (BerkeleyLaw) after a brief engineering career. Munes also had the privilege of teaching Islamic legal philosophy and U.S. Constitutional law at Zaytuna College from 2014 to 2016. Munes lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife and three children with whom he enjoys listening to audiobooks, carpentry, gardening, and hiking.
