Raania is the Deputy Chief of Staff for the Office of Vice Mayor Chappie Jones, City of San Jose. She has worked for over 16 years as a public policy and government relations professional in local and state agencies throughout the Bay Area. Through her numerous roles, including with the former State Senator Elaine Alquist and the Cities Association of Santa Clara County, she has been instrumental in advancing regional policies addressing affordable housing, transportation, and economic development. Prior to joining the Islamic Networks Group (ING) Board of Directors in 2019, Raania consulted with ING as the Community Engagement Manager and continues to volunteer with the Islamic Speakers Bureau. She is active in her community and received both her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and MBA Degrees from Santa Clara University. Raania represents Islam.
