Safiyyah Kent Alsabri, Development Manager

Safiyyah Kent Alsabri was raised in the Bay Area and received a BA with High Honors in African American Studies from UC Berkeley. She also received her MA with Highest Distinction in Educational Leadership from Indiana University. She has worked in the education field for over 20 years, most recently in an international leadership role. Her conversion to Islam in 1989 led her on a path of learning and community involvement, with a special passion for supporting those in need and helping to build bridges of understanding within the Muslim American community as well as in interfaith contexts. Safiyyah has also provided spiritual support to individuals of all backgrounds through the role of an interfaith chaplain during her Spiritual Care Chaplaincy at UCSF.
