Susan Smith, Speaker

Susan Smith serves as the Director of Operations at the Fellowship of Reconciliation’s USA branch, and was a resident of the multifaith Community of Living Traditions at Stony Point Center from 2014-2020. She is the former principal of three Islamic Schools, and the author of Biblical Children’s Stories as Told in the Qur’an. She has worked in the United Nations’ Department of Public Information and Department of Peace-keeping Operations, and has worked and volunteered doing refugee resettlement and sanctuary work in Palestine, Jordan, Turkey, the Western Sahara, Algeria, and the US. Susan received her MA in Educational Counseling and Development from Long Island University, a Masters Diploma in Middle East Studies from the American University in Cairo, and her BA in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Connecticut.
