This workshop will help parents and educators counter Islamophobia in their schools and communities, to create a supportive school environment for all students. Participants will learn about the roots and history of Islamophobia and its relationship to other forms of racism, all of which are rooted in white Christian supremacy. They will then discuss the impact of Islamophobia on students and learn how to counter it through self-education and through using various resources available for teaching about Muslims and Islam. The seminar will be interactive, incorporating group discussion.
