The Love of God and Neighbor in Islam
Following the Hebrew Bible, Jesus famously referred to loving God and loving your neighbor as yourself as the greatest commandments. In this presentation, the speaker will discuss the love of God and neighbor in the Islamic tradition, including in the Quran, the life and sayings of the Prophet Muhammad, and in Islamic mysticism or Sufism. He will also discuss what these sources state about cultivating the love of God and neighbor in one’s daily life.
Throughout the presentation the speaker will entertain questions and have a discussion with the audience.
