FEBRUARY

  • ING was founded, originally under the name “Bay Area Media Watch.” The central goal was to monitor and react to biased media coverage relating to Islam and Muslims.
  • Telephone Call-in Network developed in the San Francisco Bay Area to react to media coverage by initiating a call-in network of activists who contacted reporters and editors protesting biased coverage relating to Islam and Muslims.
