Dr. Kerri J. Malloy, Speaker

Dr. Kerri J. Malloy (Yurok/Karuk) is an Associate Professor of Native American and Indigenous Studies at San José State University and Coordinator of the Native American and Indigenous Studies Program. His research examines anti-Indigenous violence, Indigenous rights, federal Indian law and policy, transitional justice, and public memory, with particular attention to California Indigenous histories. He brings more than fifteen years of experience working with federally recognized tribes and tribal organizations to his scholarship, teaching, and public engagement. His current projects address Indigenous data sovereignty, Native student experiences in higher education, and Critical Indigenous Memory Studies.
