Venerable Tenzin, a Buddhist monastic who received her vows from His Holiness the Dalai Lama, has been studying and practicing Buddhism for over 40 years, primarily in the Tibetan tradition. She completed a six-year solitary meditation retreat in 2006, and since then has been teaching at Buddhist centers in North and South America, Australia, New Zealand, and Asia. Ven. Tenzin is based at Land of Medicine Buddha in Soquel, California where she teaches both Buddhist philosophy and meditation and secular contemplative trainings. She is passionate about social justice and is also actively involved in teaching Buddhist meditation and philosophy in prisons. In addition to teaching Buddhist philosophy, she is a certified teacher of Stanford’s Compassion Cultivation Training and also the Cultivating Emotional Balance program. Ven. Tenzin represents Buddhism.
