Day in the Park, A Multicultural Festival

10/05/02 – Council member Dave Cortese Invites You To Participate In “Day in the Park, A Multicultural Festival”. We are inviting you to volunteer your time and exhibit the services that you provide to the neighborhoods and communities of San Jose at “Day in the Park, A Multicultural Festival”. This year, it will once again be at Lake Cunningham Park, 2305 S. White Road from 10AM to 4PM. Admission is free and open to the general public.

“Day in the Park, A Multicultural Festival” is a community-wide celebration that brings people together to enjoy a day full of activities, rich in diversity, full of talent and plentiful in ethnic food. More than that, “Day in the Park, A Multicultural Festival” is also an information fair where the community gather to enjoy a day of entertainment as well as meet local businesses, government and community-based organizations to learn of the services available. This event is a celebration of community, bringing the world’s diversity together at beautiful Lake Cunningham Park. This year, we anticipate the return of the San Jose Firefighter’s BBQ, multicultural food booths, arts and crafts, children’s play area, a skate park, bone marrow drive, high school marching band, local JROTC drill team and color guard, girl and boy scout troops, multicultural artists and performers and much more. Those who were involved will remember the huge crowds and record turnout of nearly 5000 attendees. With the tremendous success from last year’s event, we anticipate an even greater turnout for 2002. Participation from the community is essential to the success of this event. We hope you can join us at this year’s celebration. Please let us know of your commitment by returning the enclosed registration form by August 9, 2002. Please direct questions or comments to Phung Pham at 408-277-5242 or email [email protected].
