“Understanding Islam” Speaker Series
Join ING Executive Director Maha Elgenaidi and Santa Clara County Supervisor Joe Simitian for the last event in a three-part speaker series on “Women and Islam” tonight, April 25th from 7:00-8:30pm at the Saratoga Civic Theater.
Panelists will talk about what it means to be a Muslim woman, and how Islam intersects with gender in today’s world. The session will also include a period of Q&A with the audience.

“Religion and Pluralism” Interfaith Panel
Join ING’s Interfaith Speaker’s Bureau (IFSB) and Santa Clara County Supervisor Joe Simitian for a panel discussion on “Religion and Pluralism” on Monday, April 29th from 6:30-8:30pm at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts.
This panel consisting of Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist and Christian representatives will address how religious communities view the beliefs and practices of other traditions.The panel will answer questions such as: What does your tradition teach about religious pluralism? How does your religious tradition view other faith traditions? How does it view religious diversity within your own faith? Can adherence to one religious tradition be compatible with respect for the many other religious traditions and convictions in our world? How can we work towards more acceptance of a pluralistic society, and what are the benefits? Are there pitfalls, and how do we overcome them?
