Sponsored by the University of San Francisco and the San Francisco Interfaith Council, this gathering will bring together religious leaders from diverse faith traditions and researchers in artificial intelligence to explore the ethical, social, and spiritual implications of AI. Inspired by Pope Leo XIV’s encyclical Magnifica Humanitas: On Safeguarding the Human Person in the Time of Artificial Intelligence, the conversation will focus on protecting human dignity, promoting the common good, and ensuring that emerging technologies serve humanity. As AI rapidly transforms education, employment, and society, faith communities have an important role to play in addressing its challenges and opportunities. Through interfaith dialogue and engagement with leaders in AI, participants will consider how religious wisdom and shared ethical values can help guide the responsible development and use of artificial intelligence.
