(Community And Family Engagement) is hosted by San Mateo County Office of Education and funded by First 5 San Mateo County. The Friday CAFE is a monthly networking event for professionals supporting/engaging diverse families with children 0-8 in our county. These professionals support early learning programs, school districts and non-profit agencies. Friday CAFE goals are to expand thinking through provocative conversations, strengthen connections amongst colleagues and support restorative practice. ING Bay Area Director Ishaq Pathan and Content Manager Ameena Jandali will be presenting on the roots and interconnectedness of various forms of bigotry, including Islamophobia, anti-Semitism, racism, and xenophobia, that are directed against Muslims, Jews, Blacks, Latinx, Asians, Hindus, Sikhs, and Native Americans. Attendees will be exploring the ways in which these concepts manifest in their professions while creating calls to action to counter prejudice and hate while building an inclusive society based on mutual understanding and solidarity.
