Salam alaikum/Greetings of peace,
As we look back, it can feel as if 2017 barely had time to catch its breath. Many of us are still trying to catch our breath, too. That’s what celebrating the new year is all about, though, isn’t it? It’s a reset, a brief pause before we get back to our lives and our work.
But in that brief moment, there’s also hope. Overwhelming hope. Hope that we can continue to improve ourselves. Hope that the world can be a more peaceful place for all of its inhabitants. Most importantly, the hope that the coming year will hold more peace, understanding, and justice for all.
At ING, we’re renewing our commitment to pursue peace through interreligious education and engagement. And we’re working with our national Know Your Neighbor partners to launch a New Year’s Resolutions campaign to better know your neighbor starting on January 8 through the 15th. We must all re-commit to being better neighbors so we can realize our vision of an America where pluralism unites us, and contributes to our shared humanity and national prosperity.
