Thank you for responding favorably to our previous email on countering Islamophobia and antisemitism together as Muslims and Jews. Since October 7th, we’ve delivered over a dozen Muslim-Jewish panels on countering bigotry for school districts, a city government, schools, an interfaith council, and federal agencies. We have several more scheduled in corporations, law firms, and healthcare facilities among other institutions. Much more work is needed in this area which is where we need your help.
Islamophobia and antisemitism are growing in the United States as a direct result of the Hamas-Israel War:
In the four weeks between October 7 and November 4, 2023, the Council on American-Islamic Relations received 1,283 reports of bias, which is a 216% increase from the same period in 2022.
In the one-month period between October 7 and Nov. 7, 2023, the Anti-Defamation League documented 832 antisemitic incidents, which represents a 316% increase from the same period in 2022.
These numbers exclude hate incidents reported to other Jewish, Muslim and Arab American organizations and do not take into account the high ratio of unreported incidents.
Help us combat Islamophobia and antisemitism through training and institutional commitments:
Training on Islamophobia and Antisemitism:

More recently, we’ve updated the panel content to reflect the current crisis. Tailored panels are one to two hours long.
-Invest in Combatting Islamophobia Training: Learn more and schedule a training here. Tailored trainings are one to four hours long.
-Invest in Combatting Antisemitism Training: There are many organizations doing this work. We recommend Facing History & Ourselves, an educational organization we partner with which you can read more about here.
Adopt the following policies at your institution:
We are encouraging corporations, school and college campuses, city governments, law enforcement agencies, healthcare facilities, and other institutions to adopt the following statement and policies to combat Islamophobia and antisemitism.
Our institution should be a place that values and uplifts diversity, equity, and inclusion of all our [employees, students, residents, clients], including Muslim, Jewish, Arab and Israeli Americans. To that end, we pledge to do the following… Read more.
