We’re Proud ING Supporters – Are You? ![]() ![]() Randy Pond and Javed Patel, ING Board Co-Chairmen 2012 was an exciting year at ING. Broadening our reach has become more important than ever because of the steady growth of Islamophobia and its negative impact, not only on American Muslims, but on our general discourse and well-being as a society. The need for education has never been more important.
ING responded to this need with increased outreach efforts and programs. We expanded our nationwide affiliate network this past year from 11 groups to 22. Our ability to educate has grown exponentially, with more than 350 speakers presenting to 350,000 Americans face-t0-face in 2012 alone.
We released our online curricula to serve as digital supplements for teachers. Topics range from Islamic perspectives on contemporary issues such as democracy and pluralism and multifaith lessons on shared values and practices, to women’s rights, a history of Muslims in America, and Muslim contributions to civilization. We have also made the answers to 100 of our most frequently-asked questions about Islam available online, along with questions about Sharia and its practice in America.
Reflecting on the successes and challenges of this year, we are very appreciative for someone in particular: You! You’ve empowered us to do this great work through your continued support. As we conclude 2012, reflecting on the past year and dreaming of the future, please do take a moment to make an end of year donation to ING. Help us prevent bullying, bias, and discrimination against Muslims before it happens through education and interfaith engagement.
Thank you for your support, and we look forward to continuing our journey together into 2013.
