INTRODUCTION
This lesson, Shared Values Among Faiths, looks at core values shared by five of the world’s major religions: Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Central to any discussion of shared values is the Golden Rule in its various renditions in all faiths, and specifically in the religions addressed in this lesson. Included in the lesson are notes which accompany each slide in the digital presentation. The lesson also includes discussion questions, as well as activities and links to films. The films featured in this lesson highlight interfaith groups working together for the common good, as well as shared values between peoples of different faiths. The lesson concludes with additional resources and references. At a time when religious conflict often appears to be the norm, this lesson highlights the many commonalities and shared values between faiths.
