Teaching about Islam in the Classroom:
Resources, Storytelling and Strategies

The California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) is partnering with leading Muslim scholars, activists, writers, and performers to offer an all-day teacher training on Islam and American Muslims. Local middle and high school teachers will be provided with practical tools and resources to enhance curricula on Islam and understanding of contemporary issues.
Ameena Jandali, ING Content Director will speak on “Fostering an Inclusive Environment: Curriculum and Resources for Teaching about Muslims and Their Faith” from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. There will be a special appearance by David Chiu, President of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, who will address the Supervisors’ recent resolution denouncing anti-Muslim ads on MUNI buses.

Better Business Bureau Renews ING’s Accreditation
ING has been reaccredited by the Better Business Bureau for the next two years, 2013-2015, meeting all 20/20 standards! This will be our third (two year) term of accreditation since 2008. The accreditation process looks at 20 standards for charity accountability, measuring effectiveness of governance, finances, fundraising and fulfillment of mission and objectives.
