What We Did This Year

Our 2021 Accomplishments

Thanks to the support of our donors, partners, and allies, our accomplishments this year have been immense!

1) From New York to California, we reached at least 1.2 million people so far this year across various sectors of the nation that included schools and universities, healthcare facilities, law enforcement agencies, and civic organizations where our diverse speakers and panelists presented on the following topics. To request a panel or presentation, write to [email protected].

2) The impact continues to be outstanding in improving perceptions about Muslims and other marginalized communities with whom we work, including the Jewish, Christian, Buddhist, and Hindu communities, as well as African American, Asian American, Indigenous, and Hispanic/Latinx communities. Our impact evaluations consistently report 85% or higher in improved perceptions, the relevance of ING content to professionals, and the usefulness of the content for their interactions with marginalized communities. The following testimonials sum up the positive feedback we receive after each of our programs.

“I thought that the training [by the Muslim speaker] was outstanding. It was relevant, informative, and engaging… this is training that all public officials could benefit from, and I learned a lot about Muslims that I did not know. Everything we learned can be put to practical use and will ensure we continue to offer the highest standards of service to all members of our community.”

– Police Commander

“This was a very educational panel and presentation by the speakers today [Muslim, Jewish, African American, Asian American, Indigenous, and Hispanic]. Anyone who hasn’t had or taken the time to learn the roots of structural and historical elements of racism, colorism and what we can do about it would gain a great deal from this ING panel.”

– City Employee

“I learned more about my religion from the ING panel than I have from my own Church… and gained far more appreciation of Islam and the other religions than I could have learned from reading books. It was also great seeing them all together [Muslim, Jewish, Christian, Buddhist, and Hindu speakers] on one panel getting along with each other. The world would be a better place if we did more of this.”

– Community Organizer

3) We increased the capacity of ING to meet the demand for our programs by transitioning to new management systems that strengthen our foundation and improve our quality and efficiencies. We also transitioned our leadership and staff team at ING, which will allow our founder Maha Elgenaidi to begin new initiatives in 2022 to ensure the sustainability of the organization for future generations. Meet our new staff and board members. Look for new staff openings next year which will be posted on this page.
