Parliament of World Religions: How to Host an Interfaith Panel in Your Community

ING will be presenting this workshop at the Parliament of the World’s Religions in Chicago, which is on the theme “A Call to Conscience: Defending Freedom & Human Rights.” Interfaith cooperation, which is essential for promoting freedom and human rights today, requires interfaith understanding. Since 2007, ING’s Interfaith Speakers Bureau (IFSB) has succeeded in building such understanding, bringing together Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Buddhist and Hindu speakers on panels to present the basics of their faith and address questions on the role of religion in society today. The IFSB offers a model that local communities can easily follow. This workshop will provide a concrete approach to building a successful IFSB in your community by leveraging the resources of faith congregations to promote interfaith dialogue and cooperation that builds mutual respect and peace amidst diversity. This workshop will include a live interfaith panel.

Throughout the event the panelists will entertain questions and have a discussion with the audience.
