East Bay Muslim-Jewish Halaqa-Seder Celebration
Thursday, May 19th, 6:00 p.m. in Berkeley

hs ING, the Jewish Community Relations Council, Jewish Federation of the East Bay/Jewish Community Foundation and East Bay Council of Rabbis along with our partners and friends invite you to join our Muslim-Jewish Halaqa-Seder: A Celebration of Communities in Berkeley.

The evening includes readings of scenes from the Exodus Story in Muslim and Jewish scriptures, lively interfaith table conversations and a delicious Halal/Kosher dinner all shared among members of the East Bay’s Muslim and Jewish communities. ING Welcomes Programs Manager, INGYouth Program Coordinator

hindishaq We’re pleased to introduce Hind Ghandour as our new programs manager and Ishaq Pathan as our new youth coordinator. Hind assumes responsiblity for the Know Your Neighbor-Multifaith Encounters program and speakers management. Before joining ING, she was the programs officer at San Francisco State University’s department of Ethnic Studies. Ishaq is a recent graduate of Hamilton College, where he served as Senior Chapel Fellow, president of the Muslim Student Association, and co-founder of the All Beliefs Union.

 

We’re Hiring in Operations and Communications

Join our team! We are looking for a communications manager/director to develop and implement a comprehensive and impactful communications strategy; and an operations manager/director to manage ING in accordance with the organization’s mission and strategic objectives. We welcome the interest of individuals who share our commitment to education, religious pluralism and community outreach.

 

Women’s Retreat: Getting to Know Muslims and Their Faith
and Muslim Women Beyond the Stereotypes
Saturday, May 21st, 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. in San Juan Bautista, CA

retreat-2 This women’s retreat will be with a different, larger church group than last year. Chief Executive Officer Maha Elgenaidi will deliver ING’s core presentation “Getting to Know American Muslims and their Faith” as well as “Muslim Women Beyond the Stereotypes.” Muslim participants will co-teach and engage; they will receive answers to FAQs about Islam to review in advance.
