6/24/11 – The Muslim Public Affairs Council and Islamic Networks Group invite you to take part in a national conference call on “Public Perceptions of Muslim Americans: Opportunities and Challenges” on Thursday, June 30 at 8:30 p.m. EST. The 90-minute teleconference will featured an overview of public opinion about Islam and Muslims in America today by the Public Religion Research Institute, followed by analysis by a trio of leading thinkers and practitioners in the Muslim American community. Have you always wanted to respond to inaccurate information about Muslims but didn’t know how? Have you been asked to speak about your faith but were afraid to? Here is your opportunity to learn how to educate others about American Muslims and their faith. We invite you to attend our upcoming Islamic Speakers Bureau (ISB) training workshop to help promote safer communities, increase cultural competency, and prevent discrimination in our communities. ING will be conducting training for speakers and spokespeople who are interested in joining an existing ING affiliated Islamic Speakers Bureau (ISB), initiating their own bureau or becoming an independently certified speaker. Since 1993, the ISB program has been the core of the outreach efforts of ING to increase religious & cultural literacy and promote mutual respect among people of all faiths and none. The entire experience of planning a series of seminars with ING was inspirational. They did an amazing job.
